What we do
We offer a flexible and environmentally friendly alternative to installing a new KITCHEN, FITTED BEDROOM or replacing your FURNITURE, saving you money and inconvenience.
In simple terms, we update anything that looks old and tired the environmentally friendly way, with paint. We can transform these item giving them a classic to modern look. For an even more effective restyle we can also change the hardware and carry out minor repairs.
How we do it
We skilfully apply only the most durable paints, using all methods, from brush painting (for a traditional look), to spray painting (for a factory finish) and everything in between.
Our preferred method is to remove the doors, drawer fronts and anything else we can, which is then sprayed in our work shop. We skilfully paint the carcasses and what ever else is left in-situ using specialist rollers for a matching finish to the sprayed parts. We generally, do a deep clean, minor repairs, apply a coat of primer and two coats of your chosen colour. We can however accommodate other systems if preferred.
Why we Love it
We love being able to transform a tired or old fashioned looking kitchen into a vibrant, light and stylish space for all the family to enjoy.
The most rewarding part is knowing that the customer will re-love their kitchen, which after all, is the heart of the home. We also get a buzz out of knowing that not only have we saved a good kitchen from going to land-fill, we have also saved the customer money and disruption.
Where we do it
Our home workshop is located in Plymouth. Most of our projects are within a 20 mile radius as a lot of our work comes through word of mouth. However, our systems allow us to work equally as well at distance.
We are happy to cover all of Devon and Cornwall and even further afield. We always enjoy visiting new areas and to date we have travelled as far as Bournemouth .
Our story
Having started a gift business in Plymouth called Beaux Cadeaux in 2006, we were always looking for new products. So we started to stock chalk paints which were very popular at the time. After training from the supplier we started to hand paint furniture, initially for shop display. We were soon asked to sell the up-cycled furniture and asked to do commissions. This side of the business quickly gathered momentum and Furniture Revolution was born. The fact that we could take a customer’s tired piece of furniture and paint it any colour and any style with the added advantage of saving it from going to landfill makes it a very enjoyable profession.
We were getting enquiries for painting kitchen cabinets, but as we felt that chalk paint was not suitable for this purpose so we set about finding a more durable, water-proof paint which did not need waxing. After lots of trials, we found just the paint, we were so impressed, we wanted our customers to have access to it and therefore sold it under our own brands (Lisse & Belle and Paint Revolution) also delivering furniture painting workshops to ensure people got the best results. We also trained to do spray painting and set-up a spray booth in our Plymouth work-shop. In 2023 an even more durable paint became available, which we now use (but unfortunately cannot sell) as we always want to achieve the best results possible.
Kitchen re-styles soon became the majority of our business due to the many advantages over having a new kitchen installed. We joined a group of professional kitchen painters who cover the UK and more. Hand Painted Kitchens UK (hpkuk.uk) attract high-end kitchen projects due to the professionalism and years of experience of its members.
We pride ourselves on being able to transform any size kitchen, made of any material in any area.
Having mastered all methods of painting and completed 100’s of kitchens and even more pieces of furniture we are well placed to deliver excellent results on any project. This enables us to guarantee our work.
